Port Captain Program

Advice and Assistance

A Port Captain is a member of the U.S. Power Squadrons® who can provide advice and assistance to USPS® members, and if the Port Captain chooses, can refer you to others for advice or assistance.

A Port Captain can also recommend:

  • mechanics, sail makers, repair yards, marine fittings, and equipment stores.
  • sources of provisions, restaurants, and lodging.
  • medical and dental services.

While Port Captains are under no obligation to provide more than friendly advice, they do enjoy meeting people and serving their fellow members.  Their primary expertise lies in their knowledge of local waters and unmarked hazards to safe navigation. Their objective is to provide information, reliable advice, and fellowship. Their aim is make fellow members feel they are welcomed to the area.

For Marblehead Harbor, you may contact David W. Graham, AP at 781-631-6680.

For other areas, you can search the U.S. Power Squadrons site at USPS Port Captains.  Members will be asked to enter your certificate number and zip code.
