Membership requirements for the USPS are completely described on the USPS Home Page. There is a basic educational requirement of successfully completing a basic safe boating course as offered by the Squadron or the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Once an individual becomes a member there are many courses available to improve all aspects of boating for everyone from beginners to “old salts”.
