The Newsday Marching Band Festival
will be held this year Tues, Wed, and
Thurs October 21, 22, and 23.

Neptune member, Shirley Rush,  who is
married to J/P/C Barry Rush is the
director of the Northport High School
Tiger Marching Band.  The band will perform in their traditional honor spot of Thursday night, last band.   The show this year is titled "Tiger Playlist".  Music is: Estancia (Latin), Sing, Sing, Sing (Swing), Chameleon (Jazz), Give Up The Funk  (Funk), and Swan Lake (Classical).

BowSpirit Award is awarded to District 3!
Congratulations to District Commander Peter Tenbrink, JN,  Junior Past District Commander
Robert Messineo, JN , and the District 3 Squadron Commanders for all of their hard work
in earning the BowSpirit Award.

The BowSpirit Award is a program that recognized districts that achieve goals related to increasing membership and educational completions.  Six areas are tracked and measured.  They are:  Total active membership, Total boating and Boat Smart Registrations, Educational program graduates exceeding prior year, Total active membership retention, Total Vessel Safety checks, and Total Co-Op charting credits.

Neptune is now a member of the Greater Huntington Council of Boating and Yachting Clubs.

Since 1985, the Greater Huntington Council of Yacht and Boating Clubs has served the needs of the recreational boating community by encouraging the sport of boating; by promoting safe seamanship and navigation; and by supporting marine safety and environmental protection issues. The Council serves as the boater's advocate before local governments.

Through it's member organizations the Council represents the interests of over 4,000 recreational boating families in the town of Huntington.
