Suffolk residents must hold a boating safety certificate effective Nov 6, 2013

The Suffolk County Legislature has passed the Suffolk's Safer Waterways Act which will go into effect on November 6, 2013. This law requires that residents of Suffolk County who operate a pleasure vessel on any waters of Suffolk County to hold a boating safety certificate.

Our boating safety classes meet all Suffolk County and New York State requirements. Beat the rush and take a class at one of the locations below!

Boating Safety Law Background

"Flanked by two mothers who lost daughters in boating accidents, County Executive Steve Bellone signed legislation that requires everyone who drives a motorboat registered in Suffolk to complete a safety course. Bellone and other officials and boating safety advocates said they hope the law, the first in the state, will spur New York lawmakers to enact a statewide requirement. (By BILL BLEYER bill.bleyer@newsday.com)"
