Membership
Since USPS is a volunteer organization, it is essential that our members be willing and able to contribute their time, energy, and skills to the objectives of the organization, self education, civic service, and participating in family boating club activities.
You must take and pass and "Boating Safety" class. Typically, this had been satisfied
by completion of a USPS public boating course or equivalent training (e.g. US Coast
Guard Auxiliary or other National Association of Safe Boating Legislators approved
course).
If you have not taken a class yet, take our next class and get six months free membership!
The squadron is following the simplified offering from USPS, which now provides
for only two categories of membership: Individual or Family. The Family classification
includes the spouse as well as all children living at the same address. The dues
rate for a Family is 150% of the individual rate. New Member, Individual $95.00
New Member, Family $136.20 Annual Renewal, Individual $83.00 Renewal, Family $124.20.
Note: the prices shown above include squadron, district, and national annual fees.
Youths between 12 and 18 years and Sea Scouts who are not Family Members may join
in the Apprentice classification by paying $12.00 annually. Life Members are members
who have earned 25 merit marks and are not obligated to pay dues. Associate Members
are members of other squadrons and pay annual dues of $15.00, but no district or
national fees.
All values are annual and are billed at time of joining and renewals are a year
later.
