Established in 1914,
United States Power Squadrons®
is the largest fraternal boating organization in the World
with 46,000 Members in 448 Squadrons in 35 Districts from
Maine to California, several U.S. Territories and Japan. The
USPS membership consists of both sail and power recreational
boaters. The
USPS is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-enforcement
fraternal boating organization dedicated to recreational
boating education and civic service.
USPS squadrons have offered courses for
over half a century and have educated more than 3 million
boaters to date.
The New Castle
Power
Squadron, started in October 1978, is in USPS
District 11 and is located in western Pennsylvania,
headquartered in
New Castle Pa. The New Castle Squadron is an
organization of boaters who believe in boating fun, safety
on the water, and boating education. We teach a public
boating course and offer many advanced and elective courses
to anyone who wishes to become a member. If you are a new
boater looking to get started or an experienced boater
looking to learn more, let us know. Also, if you just want
to get to know other boaters, give us a call. We meet
monthly except July and August.
Our organization has both
power and sail boaters
.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month and
we meet at various locations noted in the schedule or
newsletter, at 6:00 PM.
Our public boating course is
accepted as qualification for all boaters and personal
watercraft owners in Pennsylvania.
