About Us:

The New Haven Sail & Power Squadron is all about enjoying safe boating, under sail or power. We are a unit of the largest nonprofit boating organization in the country, the United States Power Squadrons® in District 1, (USPS). We are dedicated to safe boating through fellowship, education, and civic service. We welcome boaters worldwide from our home port of New Haven, Connecticut.

Organized in 1914, the New Haven Power Squadron has the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating squadron in the USPS. The Squadron is an educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and many other topics related to boating. Our members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. We enjoy participating with our fellow members on the water and in the classroom. The New Haven Squadron activities involve the three primary objectives of USPS: community service, continuing education, and enjoying the friendship and camaraderie of our fellow members.
