Holiday Party
Last year we joined District 1 for a successful “Hawaiian” holiday party instead of having our own separate event, so we are going to do it again. Those of us that went had a terrific time. It was fun to mingle with members of other squadrons while munching on appetizers and sipping luscious drinks. Many of the attendees were decked out in Hawaiian shirts and other summer garb. Table favors were beautiful, colorful tropical fish made of glass, such as you would see while snorkeling or scuba diving in the islands. There was a contest for Hawaiian attire. The food was fantastic and plentiful. Everyone had a great time dancing to the music, and there were lots of raffle prizes given out.
This year the theme is “Western.” So get out your cowboy boots, cowboy hat, and western wear or other comfortable clothing. It should be another fun party. It starts at 1800 with a cash bar, followed by a buffet dinner and dancing. It only costs $30 per person, which is a great price for all that you get. It will again be held at the Manchester Country Club in Manchester CT on 13 December, 2008.
