Two of the three principles upon which the United States Power Squadrons® and the Newport Sail and Power Squadron
were founded are Civic Service and Self Education. The Newport Power Squadron fulfills the first principle, in part,
by teaching several public boating courses each year.

Boat Handling & Seamanship, Required Equipment, Safe Operation, Charts & Aids to Navigation, Weather, Sailing,
Marlinspike, Trailer Boating, Care of Engines, Basic Navigation, Piloting, Rules of the Road and Marine Radio.
