1. D/C Art Kimber,SN spoke on the past, present and future of USPS. 2. Mike Scanlon, Safe Boating Officer of RIDEM told us of the RIDEM mission as it relates to Safe Boating and of cooperative efforts that could benefit both RI and USPS. 3. Cdr Jack Ringland,S received his oath of office for his second term as Commander of the Newport Sail and Power Squadron. 4. Dave Procaccini,JN and Dave McConnell,AP also received oaths of office as Squadron Secretary and Squadron Educational Officer, respectively. 5. Dave Duggan,JN, Donna Paquette,S and Bill Loeseke,P each received Senior Member awards, marking 5 years of meritorious service to the Newport Sail and Power Squadron. 6. Thurston Gray,SN accepted, on behalf of NSPS several awards from USPS District 14 relating to education and Cooperative Charting. 7. The statuette of Prince Henry, the Navigator, presented to USPS District 14 is awarded annually to the squadron in D14 for outstanding performance in navigation related subjects. 8. Cdr Jack Ringland,S received the coverted Bent Prop Award. |
