Welcome to the New York Sail & Power Squadron

Located in New York City, the New York Sail & Power Squadron originally formed in 1914 as a local unit of the United States Power Squadron, offering courses in Navigation, Piloting, and Nautical Astronomy as well as public lectures. In 1926, the name was officially changed to New York Power Squadron, and in 2003 it was changed to New York Sail and Power Squadron to include members under sail. It is a part of District 4 of the United States Power Squadron. USPS is a private, self-supporting, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe boating through education and providing free Vessel Safety Checks.
