Active membership is open to:
Anyone 16 years and over who is able and willing to contribute time, energy, and skills to our Squadron objectives (see About);
A Family membership is available to spouse and children (to age 25) living in the same household as an active member;
As a current member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary or the Canadian Power Squadron, you have already completed a qualifying course and no exam is required;
Individuals less than age 18, not qualified in the above, may join as an apprentice.
And, who has completed any of the following:
USPS® Public Boating or Boat Smart Course examination;
CPS (Canadian Sail and Power Squadrons) Boating Course examination;
USCGAux Boating Skills and Seamanship or Sailing and Seamanship examination.
Notable Note: If you have taken the home study or video version of the USPS® course, but have not yet taken the proctered examination, arrangements can be made for it with our Squadron.
Finally:
A Membership Application must be submitted to an NOKSPS Officer. Upon (Executive Committee) acceptance and payment of dues, a (now) member may then pursue the benefits of "Active" Membership in the Norman, OK Sail and Power Squadron

Our Norman, OK Sail and Power Squadron members own large and small sail and power boats. Also, we have some members who do not currently own a boat. Our membership experience ranges from new to life-long boaters ... You will fit right in.
