As Commander of the Orlando Power Squadron I would like to welcome you
to our web site.
Our squadron is a unit of the United States Power
Squadrons®, the world's largest private, nonprofit boating organization.
Started in 1914, the USPS is 92 years old. During WW1 and WW2 USPS trained
thousands of people to be commissioned officers in the US Navy, US Coast Guard
and Merchant Marine. The training at every level is the best available and includes
Basic Boating and Boat handling, Dead Reckoning Navigation and advanced Ocean
Navigation.
Our local Squadron, located in Orlando Florida is a member of District 23, which
covers northeast and central Florida. The Squadron is made up of volunteer men
and women dedicated to promoting safe boating through education and community
service. Currently, the Squadron is offering the Squadron Boating Course four
or five time each year. Please see the Course description for more details.
All of our Advanced Grade and Elective courses are available and scheduled to
meet the demands of the local membership.
We look forward to seeing you in the City Beautiful in sunny central Florida.
If we can be of any assistance in answering questions about the Orlando Power
Squadron, our “Safe Boating Course”, Orlando, or central Florida
in general, please call me or any one of our Bridge members.
Best Regards and Safe Boating,
Eugene Grant, JN
Commander 2009
