GPS Navigtion	Learn how to use the GPS for navigation and charting. Covers basics of the GPS functions and how they relate to piloting. Open to the public and members alike.
Seamanship	A required advanced grade course for all USPS members. This newly re-organized course is now divided into two parts. Seamanship covers topics in marlinspike, safety, etc. Boat Handling (Part 2) covers hull design, basic maintenance, docking, anchoring, moorings, and emergencies: What to do!
Piloting	Learn to read charts accurately and learn to plot course destination. Understand the concepts of Danger Bearings and boating etiquette. Instructor / student interactive course.
Marine Electronics	A new & comprehensive course that will give students the knowledge to understand complex electronics on their boats. A necessary course for all boaters.
Sailing	Sailing 2 part course on all phases of sailing. Learn to sail Members ONLY

Want to be a member so you can take these courses & obtain your boater's certification?

Only USPS members are eligible to enroll in this NEW certificate program. The Boat Operator's Certification Program (BOC) will certify USPS members at various levels of recreational boating proficiency. We expect that these certifications will be recognized across the boating community, both domestically and internationally.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has asked congress to authorize the Transportation Secretary to establish requirements for standards of proficiency for recreational boaters. USPS intends this certification to be accepted as the above proof as well as the national certificate for the USA.
