America's
Boating Club®-United
States Power Squadrons®
is the world's largest recreational boating organization with 20,000
members. Members learn together, boat together, and help each other
and other boaters on the water and on land. The only requirements
for membership are a keen interest in boating and an eagerness to
meet and enjoy time with other boating enthusiasts. Having a boat is
not required.
Our
club, America's Boating Club Southern Maryland (ABCSOMD)
- Patuxent River Sail and Power Squadron, is a member of
America's Boating Club - United States Power Squadrons. We are
located in Lexington Park, MD home of the Patuxent River Naval Air
Station. The club serves the Southern Maryland counties of Charles,
St. Mary's and Calvert. America's Boating Club Southern Maryland is
a boating social/educational organization dedicated to providing
year round boating education classes as well as water and land based
social activities enjoyed by all our members.
Our monthly squadron membership dinner is held on the second
Thursday of the month at the Pier Restaurant in Solomons, MD. Dinner
begins at 5:30pm with the member meeting at 6:30 pm. Please

NEWS***
*** America's Boating Club Southern Maryland holds regular
squadron dinner meetings on the second Thursday of the month.The
next meeting will be March 14 at The Pier Restaurant. This will be
the Squadron Change of Watch. Dinner is at 5:30pm with the meeting
starting at 6:30pm.
*** America's Boating Club District 5 will hold the Spring
Conference and Change of Watch in Ocean City on March 20 - 24. Our
own P/C Bob Blevins will be installed as District Commander.
*** We will be teaching the Maryland Safe Boating Class at
the SOMD Fishing and Outdoor Adventure Fair held at the St.
Mary's County Fairgrounds on April 6 and 7. We will also have a
booth to present our squadron to the public. Volunteers are
