Lake Mohave
Katherine Landing D-28 Rendezvous
April 3 - 5, 2009

Mark your calendars now for April 3 - 5 and plan on another fun-packed rendezvous at Katherine Landing on beautiful Lake Mojave, near Laughlin, NV. The date has been confirmed with the Lake Mohave Resort management and we have been assured the "motorcycle boys" won't be there until three weeks later! The weather is likely to be beautiful, the lake is full, so all we need is YOU! You do not need a boat to participate. We will make certain you get assigned to a boat so you will not miss any of the fun.

The Lake Mohave Power Squadron and the Phoenix Sail and Power Squadron are co-hosting this popular annual event and inviting the other D-28 Squadrons to join us. This rendezvous is all about boating activities and fun on the water. There will be plenty of boats for everyone to get out on the lake. And, of course, the food will be in abundance, as always. So plan now to attend whether you can bring a boat or not.

Reservations are required. If you are staying in the motel, Please call Dora Moore at 928-754-3245 to make your motel, campground, and slip reservations. She is there Monday through Friday 0800 - 1500 daily. If you can't reach Dora, you can call the Irvine Reservation Center at 800-752-9669. Either way Be sure to mention that you are with the Phoenix Sail and Power Squadron to get our special rates which are the same as they have been in recent past years:

Motel  1 King  $60.00 per night
   2 Doubles  $70.00 per night
   Kitchen Units  $90.00 per night
Boat Slips  $21.00 per night  ($11 .00 extra if Jet Ski, etc. In the same slip)
RV Spaces  With Hookups  $30.00 per night
Campground  Tent Camping, no Hookups  $10.00 per night

You will need a credit card to put down a deposit of your first night's charges plus tax. Boat slips can be guaranteed only if you are staying in the motel. If you make your slip reservation with Dora, please let Jerry or Kathy Anderson know also, so we can add you to the "boat list".

You may stay aboard your boat in the slip. If you want to reserve a slip but are not making a motel reservation, make your slip reservation with Jerry or Kathy at 480-540-9494 or Andersjd@msn.com. Be sure to give Jerry or Kathy your boat length, AZ or CA number, and arrival and departure dates. Dora assures me that she will make slips available for Power Squadron members that weekend. But you must let us know. I will be fax'ing her our updated slip requirements each week. Please give us your slip requirements as soon as possible.

The entrance fee to Katherine Landing is $5.00 for the 1st vehicle and $10.00 for your boat. The entrance fee and tenting campground are National Park Service facilities, so Golden Age cards are good for a discount for those 62 or better. If you qualify, the Park Service personnel can sell you a Golden Age card on your way in. It is good for all National Parks, National Forest boat ramps and campgrounds, etc.

The Planning Committee for this event is still working on many of the details for the rendezvous. We do know we will have the traditional Poker Run which is always a blast, the traditional raft-up, and another shot at a Predicted Log Contest. As always, there will be prizes, good company, and loads of fun.
