REGIONAL BOATING

Arizona has over 150,000 registered boats. Besides the few small natural lakes in the areas above 6000 feet elevation, several man-made lakes serve as the primary recreational boating sites. Many of the larger lakes are also served by one or more marinas. Several members of the Phoenix Sail and Power Squadron also operate sail and power boats out of yacht clubs and marinas in Southern California.

* Lakes of the Colorado River system

** Lakes nearby the metropolitan Phoenix area.

All these lakes contribute to the state's residential, industrial, and agricultural water supply and levels can vary significantly throughout the year. Lakes Mohave and Havasu are diversion basins and their level remains relatively constant. Lake Powell may vary upwards of 50 feet during an exceptional heavy spring run-off. For information on lake level conditions they can be found on the following websites:

Salt And Verde River Lakes (updated daily except weekends - includes launch ramp depths)
