It is not affiliated with any governmental or military organization. Established in 1914, it currently has more than 60,000 members and is divided into 33 Districts across the US and it's Territories. The Districts are further divided into 450 squadrons. There are 16 squadrons in District 8 which extends from Key West, north along the Atlantic coast to Vero Beach, Florida. This is known as the Boating Mecca of the World. The Pompano Beach Power Squadron is in the heart of it all.</font></strong></span><b><font face="Arial" size="2" color="#0000FF"> </font></b></p> <p align="left" style="margin-left: 15; margin-right: 15"> <strong><font size="2" color="#0000FF" face="Arial">Our principal aim is to promote boating safety and education on the water and in the class room. Our members also enjoy many boating and non-boating social activities, building friendships with people in all walks of life. Some of our boating activities include RaftUp's and Weekend Rendezvous' at many of the popular Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Palm Beach marinas.
