Rendezvous

 
 

A Tropical Paradise in the heart of downtown Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The Hyatt Regency Pier 66 is located next door to the Port Everglades Cruise Ship terminal where many of the worlds largest cruise ships dock. You can see the Port Everglades inlet at the top right  corner of the picture.

There was better weather the next day.
 

The SE 17th Street Causeway Bridge looking south toward Port Everglades in
Ft Lauderdale, Fl. This is were many of the largest Cruise Ships in the world dock.
Military vessels occasionally put into port here for Sailors R and R.

If you are going to do any boating in this area, you better know the
Rules of the Road.

Looking at the SE 17th Street Causeway Bridge at night,
over the bow of a mega-yacht docked at Pier 66.
 

With a Clearance of 55 FT above MHW when closed,
 this bridge only opens on the hour and half hour for Tall Ships,
if you contact the bridge tender with your VHF Radio.
Not all of the bridges have this much clearance.
You better have a VHF Radio and know how to use it to contact
the many bridge tenders in this area. If you miss their scheduled
 opening times, you will have to wait for the next scheduled time.

Dogs on the Dock


Our yearly party for new members.

at there Condo on the ICW in Lighthouse Point,
for new members as well as current members.

DANIA BEACH MARINE FLEA MARKET

 

The entire food court was catered by Grandpa's Bakery and Restaurant.

Members of the Pompano Beach Sail and Power Squadron
served the food for the entire weekend.

This operation  was so big, we needed to have a refrigerated Tractor Trailer
for all of the food and drinks.


One of the cooks is preparing Hamburgers. One grill was for Hot Dogs,
one for Hamburgers, and the other for Sausages.

There was a ton of the usual new and used Marine items.


 

Of course, there is always fishing poles.
