VERIFY YOUR
ROSTER CONTENT IS UP-TO-DATE
It is that time of year
again when every member needs to verify that
their contact information (email address,
phone, mailing address, spouse information,
etc) is up-to-date on the national roster.
This information is the main source of
information for the squadron, district, and
National Rosters. The deadline for your OD-1
and OD-2 submissions is Feb 1 each year and
it is up to each member to ensure their
information current as no one knows your
information like you do.
To verify, you can ask your DB2000
chair to check, or you can follow the steps
below to verify by using the national
website. Whichever method you use is fine,
but it is best to follow-up to verify it
made it.
Also, if you change any part of your
contact information throughout the year in
between roster printing, you will need to
contact those individuals that use your
information to let them know. There is not
an automatic way for anyone to be notified
of your changes. Suggestion: In your email
program, add a "signature" that will be
included automatically on every email you
send that states what the change is. For
example, I added "Please note that my email
address changed to
kayakladyfl@att.net on Aug 15 2010.
Please update your information."
To verify using the website:
1. Go to
www.usps.org.
2. Choose the "How Do I..." link a the
top of the page.
3. From the list, click on "Update my
personal data online".
4. If you are not logged into the
website, you will be asked to Login.
5. Once Logged in, you will see a form
with your primary personal contact
information that is stored in the database.
6. Make changes as necessary and click
on "Submit All Changes" or Click on "Cancel
No Changes Necessary".
Please remember that the national
database is only good to everyone if
everyone is keeping their own information
up-to-date.
A step-by-step process document can be
found on the website at
http://www.usps.org/cgi-bin-nat/tools/myprofile.cgi
or in the SailAngle File Cabinet for this
group - USPS National Group.
