     This course deals with performing Vessel Safety Checks in the community. It is a courtesy examination of a boat (vessel) to verify the presence and condition of certain safety equipment required by State and Federal regulations. The Vessel Examiner is a trained specialist and is a member of the U.S. Power Squadrons. He or she will discuss safety issues and make recommendations and will help you become a safer boater.

   This 5 to 6 hour class presents all the items needed by a vessel owner to comply with both state and federal laws concerning what is considered required by both agencies to qualify for a Safe Vessel Decal.
