THE SQUADRON BOATING COURSESM

Members of USPS® offer The Squadron Boating Course SM as a public service to their community.  The same course is taught by 450 squadrons throughout the country.  Upon completion of the course, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and a decal developed for course graduates. They may place this on their boat, trailer, RV or towing vehicle.

The Squadron Boating Course SM is a traditional civic service of The United States Power Squadrons®.  Since 1914 local squadrons have presented the course to anyone who wished to attend - to date more than 3 million people. Learning to boat safely is important and the increased knowledge will enhance your safety on the water and your enjoyment of the sport.

For information on the USPS® public boating course closest to you, call 1-888-FOR-USPS or check out our Online Schedule. In Canada, for the CPS course, call 1-888-CPS-BOAT.

How to Become a Member

USPS® believes that the more educated a boater becomes, the more likely that boater will be a safe boater.  Hopefully students will be encouraged to join USPS® for additional boating courses such as those offered to members of the United States Power Squadrons&reg. Instructors can give you information about these advanced courses.

Additional USPS® Educational Materials are available to the public.

If you have any questions or want to enroll in one of these courses email Mary Vann Sitton or call her at 252 459-4142
