I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during my term as commander. I could not have made it without your support. The bridge has done an excellent job of planning and executing our many programs and activities this past year. Our family night programs have certainly been tops. I have enjoyed the times we have spent together, particularly at Cooperative Charting and other times when we have gotten together to eat and have fun. As we look to the future, let's all make a resolution to get involved in the various activities of our squadron. You are important to the squadron. We need your help to be able to present the Squadron Boating Course®, both spring and fall. We will be offering a full line of courses this year and I wouldn't miss taking some of them for anything. I hope you will consider improving your knowledge on the water y taking a course. At the start of my year I challenged you to take a course this past year. Many of you did and I know you gained from that experience. Please keep it up by signing up for a course this year. If you did not take a course, now is the time. Won't you join me this year? Plans are already being made for our first cruise of 2000. Bowie Martin would like to hear from you if you can join him and company for the Easter Cruise to Ocracoke. I can't wait to see how long it will take me to make this trip this time. As many of you know I hold the record of 28 hours for a return trip from Ocracoke. If you haven't heard that one, don't ask, because I'm not telling. Let's make this the best year ever for the Rocky Mount Power Squadron. Page updated 25 January 2003. |
