Change of Watch 2008
The
Change of Watch for the Rocky Mount Power Squadron took place on
Saturday,
February 16th at Something Different in Wilson. A social hour
preceded dinner so everyone had a chance to mingle and talk with those
they
hadn’t seen in a while. P/DC Ben Reed,
AP and his wife, Cdr Lorrie Clark Reed, P along with D/C Mack Gordy,
Jr, AP and
his wife, Mrs. Vinnie Gordy came to both
socialize and Mack to install our new commander and bridge.
As
always, Something Different cooked a delicious meal for us and except
for the
noise from the birthday party in the adjoining room, everything was
perfect.
Our
Master of Ceremonies, L. M. Barnes pitch hit for Glenn Daughridge who
had
previously accepted another venue.

Ryan, S The following awards were presented to our members for 2007: Commander’s Award – Chris Payne Marshall Brushwood Award – Kelly Bock Vessel Safety Check Award – Phil Benson District Commander Mack Gordy relieved our previous commander, Steve Boshart of his duties and installed our new commander, Kendall Cranston, and our new bridge. It was decided that Steve is on probation for a year to determine if he is worthy of becoming a past commander. Our new commander, Kendall talked about the three members of our squadron who both mentored him and got him involved in our squadron 12 years ago. He looks forward to an outstanding year for 2008.
