The Sable Point Sail and Power Squadron  is a local boating group that is part of the United States Power Squadrons®, a non-profit organization formed in 1914 with boating education the center piece of its mission. There are now over 400 local squadrons nationwide in 33 Districts. Today USPS® continues its dedication to making recreational sail and power boating safer and more enjoyable through education.

Sable Point Squadron, part of District 9 that primarily covers lower Michigan,  provides  public safe boating classes each year and also helps its members improve their boating skills with member courses specific to their needs.

Many of our members enjoy boating on Lake Michigan with others enjoying their boating activities on lakes such as Hamlin Lake. The Sable Point Sail & Power Squadron’s coverage is centered in Ludington Michigan on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan from Little  Sable Point  north to Big Sable Point and inland to Lake county.

The Sable Point squadron provides multiple boating safety courses to the public each year.  Complete details of public classes featuring  “Americas Boating Course 3rd edition” are available on the Public Courses page.
