The Squadron Boating Course has been the cornerstone of USPS® education for many years. It is a basic introductory course for both sailboaters and powerboaters. It is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard as acceptable to the National Recreational Boating Safety Program. It meets the requirements of the Connecticut mandatory safe boating education laws.

Since the course was first offered in 1914, local Squadrons have taught anyone who wished to attend - more than 3 million persons. The course is designed to be useful to all boaters and is meant to be of interest to the entire family. Older children are welcome; we encourage your family to attend as a group.

Test your boating knowledge. Take the National Safe Boating Test.
