USPS/Shrewsbury Power Squadron
There are two categories and four types of
membership:
These are the new membership categories
as of June 1, 2011.
Individual Membership Category
Active Member
Must pass an approved exam such as the USPS Boating
or USCG Aux Boating Course.
An Active Member can take courses, attend meetings,
vote,
hold elected or
appointed office earn merit marks and receive
the National USPS
publication THE ENSIGN.
$28 SPS + $41.00 National + $6 District = $75 DUES
Family Membership Category
Primary Active Member with Additional Active
Must pass an approved exam such as the USPS Boating
or USCG Aux Boating Course.
Is an active member and has all the privileges
listed above.
The Additional Active Member in the family receives
membership at a reduced cost
because only one copy
of THE ENSIGN is sent to the household.
$28 SPS + 28 SPS + $61.50 National + $6 +$6 District = 129.50 DUES
Primary Active Member with Adult Family Member *
May take courses, attend meetings, and earn merit
marks.
They do not have all of the privileges of active
members
and may not vote
or hold office.
$28 SPS+ $ 3 SPS + $61.50 National + $6 District = $98.50 DUES
Primary Active Member with 1 Junior Family Member*
Family Members under the age of 18 are classified
as
“Junior” Family Members
for dues purposes only.
$28 SPS +$2 (Jr) SPS +
$61.50 National +
$6 District = $97.50 DUES
*Additional Adult and Jr
family member may be added for $3 and $ 2 each.

Family Members must be related to the active member
and reside
with or be dependents of the Active Member.

To qualify for Active Membership in the United
States Power Squadrons,
you must be able
and willing to contribute time, energy and skills to the objectives of the
USPS, pass the basic boating class exam,
be accepted by
the squadron’s Executive Committee and have paid dues.

USPS complies with all human rights laws. This
squadron welcomes all who have an interest in boating to apply for membership.

Reinstating
members (who are not part of an existing family unit) fee is $20.50.
The reinstating
member’s anniversary date will be reset to the month of renewal if non-renewed
for more than a year.
