Spokane Sail & Power Squadron is one of a small percentage of squadrons throughout the United States Power Squadrons that has its own clubhouse. The Spokane Sail & Power Squadron clubhouse is centrally located just north of downtown Spokane at 925 W. Jackson Ave., Spokane WA 99205 (at the SE corner of W. Jackson Ave. and N. Monroe St., ½ block south of and across the street from Fred's Appliance store on N. Monroe St.). The clubhouse occupies approximately 1,285 sq.ft. of space at the east end of the building, at no cost to the squadron except for a share of the monthly utilities.
The clubhouse features two classroom/meeting rooms, one of which can seat up to 40 people, a well-equipped modern kitchen and pantry, a combination library/file room, and a restroom. An AED (automatic external defibrilator), first aid kit, and telephone are readily available in case of emergency. Virtually all squadron monthly dinner/program meetings, parties, classes, and business meetings are held at the squadron clubhouse. It is also serves as a central home and storage facility for all squadron equipment, course materials, teaching aids, official records, boat show and display materials, and food and party supplies.
The Spokane Sail & Power Squadron business office is located in the same building (up the five concrete steps) at 929 W. Jackson Ave., Spokane WA 99205. Both the current Squadron Commander and the Squadron Educational Officer have their offices here.
Out-of-season materials are stored in the basement under the house portion of the building. A large signboard at the west end of the building announces the next boating class to the world and is a convenient locator sign for southbound traffic on the Monroe St. arterial.
There is on-site parking for 6-7 cars plus space for 8-9 more at curbside right in front of the building. One short block away is a public adult education program facility with open parking for 20-30 cars.
