Watchung Power Squadron's membership is drawn from the Union County area of New Jersey. The county is approximately 20 miles West of New York City. The flat lands of the County are bordered on the West by the Watchung Mountains. Hence, the name Watchung Power Squadron was chosen in 1956 when the organization was chartered.
