Boat Operator Certification - On The Water Training Committee

This site is provided as a means of communications with the USPS National Boat Operator Certification - On The Water Training Committee (BOC-OTWTrCom). We welcome your questions and comments on all aspects of boat operator certification and on-the-water training activities.

Committee Responsibilities

The BOC-OTWTrCom is responsible for the Boat Operator Certification (BOC) program as well as developing new material for our on-the-water training activities. Related developments funded by grants from external organizations such as the United States Coast Guard also are the responsibility of the BOC-OTWTrCom. The BOC-OTWTrCom also directs and supervises the BOC certifiers, so the Regional BOC Certifiers report to it. The BOC-OTWTrCom recommends externally recognizable levels of proficiency and maps USPS courses into these levels, recommends additional supplemental programs to fill voids, and proposes a formal certification program for internal approval.
