USPS signs on to USCG's safety plan
Plan to make a difference
During the International Boating and Water Safety Summit in San Antonio on 5 March, Rear Adm. Craig Bone and C/C Ernie Marshburn, SN, signed the USCG Office of Boating Safety strategic plan.
USPS joined a host of boating safety groups, including the Coast Guard Auxiliary, National Safe Boating Council, American Canoe Association, National Water Safety Congress and U.S. Sailing, in signing.
The plan sets specific boating safety goals ranging from accident reduction to life jacket use. Yearly targets are set in each category, and team partners, including USPS, are tasked with helping the U.S. Coast Guard achieve those goals through boating safety efforts. – Bob Sweet
