Ohio squadrons cash in
This year, seven Ohio squadrons will receive boating safety education grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Provided through the state’s Waterways Safety Fund, Boating Safety Education Program grants help young boaters meet the provisions of Ohio’s mandatory boater education law, which requires boaters born after 1981 to show proof they have successfully completed an approved boating safety course.
Thirty-three community organizations across Ohio will receive a total of $364,303 in grants ranging from $2,900 to $24,070 each.
