Tom has developed a strategic and tactical corporate marketing plan for a leading marine company, built brand loyalty, upgraded a company website to make it easy to use and navigate, directed marketing and sales efforts in diverse distribution channels, and initiated product marketing and sales strategies. In his first year, Tom will concentrate on developing a long-range marketing plan to help USPS grow. He will also focus on membership recruitment and retention and USPS product promotion. |

In September, Chief Commander Ernest G. Marshburn recognized both the achievement of a USPS sea adventurer and the community outreach efforts of eight outstanding squadrons at the 2007 Governing Board Meeting in Norfolk, Va. Watch a video of the awards presentation here. Shrewsbury Power Squadron member John Gage, who recently completed a three-and-a-half-year circumnavigation of the globe on his 42-foot sailboat, Dream Catcher, received the USPS Juan Sebastian del Cano Award, named for the navigator who completed Magellan’s planned circumnavigation.
