Grants & External Funding

The Grants & External Funding Team was established during the April 2004 OCom meeting with a charge to generate external funds in support of new USPS® projects.  The members of this team bring a special expertise to USPS including experience in grant writing and sources for key contacts for future grant initiatives.

Waterway-Watch is a "Citizen-Based Homeland Security" proposal designed to train volunteer members of USPS, local Citizen’s Corps representatives, and other persons who will use their own boats to monitor day-to-day boat traffic and port activities along high-priority waterways in the United States.  A recently developed Power Point presentation created by P/R/C Priscilla Clarke, AP was introduced at the Annual Meeting in Orlando and is available for downloading.  The presentation can be used by districts and squadrons to help promote awareness.

Environment - Currently we are seeking funding for the Environmental Committee "Unsplash That Trash Campaign" and "Environmental Best Practices" brochure.

Recent grants received from the USPS Educational Fund include: Boating Safety Sidekicks the Power of Safe Boating, a safe boating booklet for youth, and USPS University.
