Mailing Lists |
|
Lists are either open or closed. With the exception of special and national committee lists, all lists are open to all members of USPS. All requests for mailing list creation or changes in list administrator, must be approved by the ITCom System Administrator. By subscribing to any mailing list on the usps.org domain, you agree that you will not post:
Each mailing list requires an administrator. The administrator's role is to add or subtract people from the list, answer most questions about the list's operation, and interface with the webmaster when they are unable to correct or answer a specific issue. Administrators will be added to an internal, low volume mailing list for users of the ITCom system. The role of administrator takes from 10 minutes per week to 1/2 hour per day. Time is a function of the activity level, both in additions and in subtractions to the list as well as number of posts. To assist the list administrator, we have added a web interface ("MailMan") to make the adding and subtracting of users easier: www.usps.org/mailman/listinfo |

National Committees Each national department and committee can utilize a mailing list. The list can be set to open or closed, with closed meaning the list administrator is the only person who can admit (add) a new member to the list. Ask your rear commander if there is a mailing list and how to subscribe to it. Districts Each District may have the use of one mailing list. Note that any district hosting a Governing Board may request a special use list, just for the GB. Squadrons Unless a squadron exhibits a large number of e-mail literate members, a mailing list for individual squadrons will not be provided. Mailing List and Digest Bounce Policy - N E W Subscribers whose e-mail bounces for errors such as "User Unknown" or "Mailbox Full" will be unsubscribed after 2 failed attempts. There will be no warning, and you will have to resubscribe to the list with your correct or updated email address. |
