Subject: NEW MEMBERSHIP SUCCESS ACQUISITION - REPORT FOR GOVERNING BOARD MEETING IN PUERTO RICO

Dear P/C Rose:

Yes, we would be glad to share our "Success Story" of how our Squadron added a significant number of New Members and was one of the Top Performers in USPS New Membership Drive.

The following are highlighted reasons for our success:

• Advertising Rigorously in Newspapers with Joe Namath Ads, School Bulletins, USPS Web Page and the US Coast Guard.

• Offering Two Boating Courses - one in March and one in September. We also offered one Boat Smart Course in January. These courses were held in three different locations.

• Resulting in Success of Acquiring New Members which was approximately 40% to 60% of the total enrollment in these classes.

• Culminating Success which was due to our very zealous Membership Chairman constantly mentioning USPS during lectures and classroom work. Our dedicated Table Instructors were instrumental in "selling" the advantages of USPS Membership. Also, the Green Foundation Subsidization Program was helpful in encouraging Family Membership.

If we get students and keep "pounding the drum", we will get new members.

We plan on continuing what was successful for us in the past!
