As you probably already know, the Operations Manual is the compendium of all information concerning the United States Power Squadrons. The Operations Manual Committee makes every effort to keep it current. As such, it the model for almost everything that happens in our organization. There is also a program called Operations Training sponsored by the Leadership Development Committee that teaches a synoptic summary of the Operations Manual. The 2012 release of the Operations, Membership, Secretary's, Treasurer's and Squadron Development manuals are published and on-line. Please note this release supersedes all previous versions.
Every effort has been made to make this release as accurate and current as possible. Any of the manuals we maintain may be separately downloaded as necessary. In the Operations Manual, please note that Chapters 21 through 24 are also published as stand-alone manuals with a cover, table of contents, index and the like. Since this is a major release of each manual, all change bars have been removed from each document.
To the best of our knowledge, all revisions mandated by changes to the Bylaws approved at either the most recent Annual or Governing Board meeting and minor updates have been incorporated in these manuals. Please consult the What's Changed document for a detailed listing of all significant manual updates.
The release numbering system has been changed. Effective with this release, the numbering system will be the year of the release plus the update number if one. For instance, this release is numbered 2012 as it is the first release of the manual for the year 2012. The next update for any manual we publish will be numbered 2012/1 indicating the first update to the 2012 edition. The next release will be 2012/2; then 2012/3 and so on. Also, the bottom of each page and cover page will be numbered. This should simplify the recognition of which release is the most current and thus indicate if you need to download the most current copy.
