Module Four (4) differs from previous modules in that it is not a training program for a specific group of members. In fact it is not training at all. Rather it is a dynamic work, available only online, that will attempt to keep all USPS members up to date on the changes that are constantly occurring within the organization. Links to other USPS web pages will be provided when possible.

Section 1

Section One (1) will always contain the “What’s New” information. For example the current Section One includes Recent Governing Board Actions and potential action Items for the next Governing Board.

At the January 2004 Annual Meeting in Orlando, the Governing Board voted to change some of the committee assignments in the Executive, Administrative and Secretary's Departments. This was done to group those committees with membership-related responsibilities to the Administrative Department and assigning those committees that do not have membership-related responsibilities to the other departments.

Section 2

Understanding the USPS Organization

Other Sections will contain information that may be of interest to Squadron members and hopefully add to their understanding of USPS and how the various departments and levels interact to support the membership. The first topic we will attempt to cover in Section Two (2) will be a discussion of the three organizational levels in USPS:

Squadron

District

National

and how they compare, contrast and interact with each other.
