Wheel and Ensign Administrative Officers Report
Lt/C Laurie Hestand, P 2009

Ahoy Mates!

As your new Administrative Officer, I enter this position with great anticipation.

I am committed for the year and shall do my best to make 2009 another enjoyable year for the Squadron.

I am asking you as members of the squadron to lend your support, offer suggestions and criticisms, volunteer for committees,

and become an active part of our organization. I must tell you that I am having fun; the social calendar is taking shape, and I anticipate

a fun filled 2009. Mark your calendars. We have several events for the year confirmed. By the time this article is published,

we will have attended the yearly Founders Day event, in which I might add was a huge success. Our Squadron raised a much needed

amount of approximately $1,000. My appreciation goes out to the SocialCommittee and the numerous other helpers in making this event

successful. On 12 March, our famous Past Commanders' Clam Chowder Feast will take place at the Church of the Resurrection at 1830 (6:30 pm).

There will be no cost for this event (except to our gracious Past Commanders) and some of the BEST Clam Chowder and Rum Swizzles you

have ever tasted. Check out the Dinghy Painter( or web calendar) for more details and future events.

As always, the Social Committee welcomes your assistance.

Member Involvement Chairman Marilyn Goss has once again stepped up tohost the Youth Poster Contest.

This year's theme is "BOATING IS FUN".Talk to your friends, co-workers, neighbors and get their children involved...it could pay off with some

great prizes. We have many opportunities to meet, greet, and have fun. So plan to attend as many events as you can and I encourage you to

bring a guest.

I hope to see you all at the Clam Chowder Feast.Spring is coming - hang in there!
