We are extremely pleased with the
interest of non-profit groups which have agreed to participate in the
"first annual" Open House Kickoff for National Safe Boating Week in
Portland, Maine on Saturday May 17th.

The exhibit tables will be set up along
the water-side of the fence beside the walkway in front of Portland Yacht
Services at 9:30 AM. You can set up your display then and we will be open for
education from 10 AM to 2 PM. The Shackle and the Portland Fireboat will
be tied to the dock in front of the displays, and the flare and fire
demonstrations will take place in the immediate area - as safety allows.
PYS will have a BBQ going so your volunteers and guests will get a free lunch.
Water, canned pop and snacks will be on sale for $1.00.

We would ask that you help us publicize
this event by e-mailing the attached news release to all your staff and
members. Encourage them to come and bring the whole family. There
will be tours of the two vessels and lots of interesting events and displays.

Doug Scott will be the On-Site Point
of Contact and will be directing the activities of the volunteers. See him
if you have any questions or calll 222-2317.
