More on SCF reporting.

First a definition of an SCF.

It is a facility that provides services to the boating public. It must
as a minimum be open to the public and provide these basic services.
Fuel, Dockage and Pumpout facilities.

There are two ways these facilities get reported.

One is using the SCF reporting entry on ccweb. This is to be used only
for Facilities that are on either the Small Craft/Inland Waterway or
Great Lakes charts.

When reporting this way the a business card or brochure or letterhead
and chart must be supplied. Beginning 1 December reports must supply
the Business card, letterhead or brochure as stated above. However, for
those all ready in the system will be accepted but it will be greatly
appreciated if a business card can be added or cut and paste from a web
providing that information. This will not be accepted after 1 December.

What happens with this report. It gets sent to the chart folks for the
chart update and to the Coast Pilot for updating it.

Second way. For facilities found on charts other than those identified
above.

Submit on ccweb as a Coast Pilot entry. Select Small Craft Facility on
the pull down on the Coast Pilot page. These must also meet the above
minimum requirements to be submitted.

This will require text entry to describe the facility. The Coast Pilot
folks prefer that a brochure be provided so that they may extract from
it what they want to print in the document. But if that is not
available provide the text in the box on the reporting page. Supporting
documentation requirements are as above, chart and business card or,
brochure.

What happens with this report. It is sent to the Coast Pilot to have
the information entered in the Coast Pilot.

All entries in the Coast Pilot are at the discretion of NOAA. One of
the rules they must follow is to NOT DO ANYTHING that makes them
competitors of of private enterprise endeavors.

Have a great day, Ed Summers R/C Nat CoCh comm.
