So I'd suggest you could start by looking in the Coast Pilot [this can be accessed from CC Web] look in your area for missing or outdated information i.e. area code numbers, water tanks that have been removed but still are mentioned in the Coast Pilot, marinas, new or destroyed. All of these can be done from a car. Check the chart for things that are not shown on the chart, new buildings, water tanks, cell towers that would be useful for navigation, power lines that have been removed but still show up on the chart and in the C.P., Small Craft Facility reports are a good thing that can be done by boat or auto. This should get you started, also look for "Things to increase your credits" listed in CC Web this contains some ideas. The digital part of Maptech is expected to be sold in the near future. The reason for the sale was the death of the principal owner of the company and his family chose to sell. Over the next several weeks the contents of the Maptech web site will be changing, being deleted or moved to the new owners web site. It is suggested that if you have any Maptech software, that you log on to the Maptech web site www.maptech.com and download any appropriate updates. It would be great to use local charts in our boating courses.
