Maureen: I see this is a repeat post....I'm not a "FrontPage" expert =
but will give my opinion, which can then be corrected by someone more =
knowledgeable or opinionated:). My gut feeling is you can't use Front =
Page Extensions on the USPS server; that is to protect the server =
integrity. That being said, if you want to use FrontPage with its =
extensions and you have a need for a lot of server space, I'm using =
NetFirms. 500 meg of server space cost $9.95 a month paid annually =
(119.40 a yr). Their service has been very good as has their reliability =
and you can do your updates "live" if your software will allow it. I'm =
using the USPS server for my first two pages =
http://www.usps.org/localusps/newlondon/ and the rest of the site is on =
the Netfirms server http://www.netfirms.com/support. It all works very =
transparently, and with 500meg of server space I can do multiple web =
sites without and graphics albums without worrying about maxing out my =
allocated space with USPS. Hope this helps and doesn't add to the =
confusion. P/C Bob Payette, New London

Subject: [Comphelp] microsoft front page
Currently under USPS web site information the following notation is =
included:
Neither "FrontPage Extensions" nor "Active Server Pages" are supported =
by the USPS web server. Microsoft offers "KISSfp", an "Add-on" for =
FrontPage that provides a way of publishing FrontPage-created web sites =
to web servers that do not support the extensions. Note that "home.html" =
and "default.html" are not supported as the "home page".=20
Is this statement still correct?
The new Front Page 2003 "appears" to indicate that it can be used "as =
is" with Unix/Apache/Linux?=20
No add on software?=20
Is this correct?
Thank you.
