 Ben,

If your problem is just that your computer doesn't know what program to
use to open a file, that is remedied in Windows Explorer. I forget
exactly where it is in Win98, but there is a tab called "File Types" in
the Folder Options or Tools where you tell Windows what program opens
the various file types. Usually this comes up automatically when you
try to open a file that hasn't been associated with a program.

Hello Group
I have two or three questions I need help with. I would also welcome any
other comments anyone feels like sending.
I have been using an old HP computer model 6645C with Windows 98 SE on
it. Over the years of Virus and Spyware I have learned when it quits to
format the hard disk and reinstall the original software complete with
all the things I don't need. In addition I loose all the upgrades to my
programs. I am using McAfee AV for Virus and AdAware for spyware.
The problem seems to be with AdAware, they advertise that they "Clean"
the spyware but what they seem to do is delete the files. I have lost
the files that open graphics attachments to e-mail specifically Jpeg
files and short Video. I cannot find in my Instruction manuals a
reference to this problem. How can I get this operating again without
full formatting and reinstalling? I am tired of that. It takes me two
days to get it up running again.

Thank You
