From boatsafe at comcast.net Wed Mar 24 18:52:02 2010 From: boatsafe at comcast.net (Bob Miller) Date: Wed, 24 Mar 2010 15:52:02 -0700 Subject: [D16ve-l] This Mailing List Will Be Eliminated April 10th Message-ID: <007001cacba4$a3d857e0$eb8907a0$@net> Back in October I sent you all a message indicating that this list would be going away in the near future. Well, the near future is now here. As of this time about half of you have done that leaving the other half to migrate. I am allowing another couple weeks for the rest of you to get yourselves logged into SailAngle and to find your way to the D16 ve-1 & Safety Group. I have included below a fairly detailed description of how to go about doing that. The system already includes a connection to a database of all USPS members. The security is so good on this system that when folks no longer are members they will be removed from our Group and the system automatically. Only our group members have access to the D16ve-1 and Safety domain in SailAngle. To be sure it is considerably more capable and may at first seem more complicated than our old system, but once you log in a few times you will find it much less intimidating. Now, for those who have not yet tried or those who have had trouble signing on to SailAngle, first go the USPS home page at http://www.usps.org/ and look for the button. Click on this button and it will take you to SailAngle login page like the one in the graphic below. You should use your USPS membership (certificate) number as your Email/Username and your mailing 5 digit zip code as your password. In the example below clipped from the SailAngle login page the Username E123456 and a zip code was used for the password. As is normally the case you are not able to see the password. I encourage all of you to take a shot at logging on and exploring a bit. sailangleclip.jpg Once you are logged on, hover your mouse over the Groups button as displayed in the image above. It will drop down a lower level menu from which you want to click on USPS Groups. On the right hand menu on this page click on D16ve-1 & Safety. This takes you to our Group. If you don't see the page with the first few members you were not in the original database that was migrated over so you will need to click on the "Join" button on the top left of the page. This will then send a request to me to join the group and I will execute that as soon as I see it. If anyone can't remember their membership number (now what VE doesn't know their certificate number?) just call or drop me an email and I'll send it to you. Please feel free to contact me with any problems you encounter. Thanks for your cooperation. Hang in there and keep on doing those VSCs.
