Please consider attending this fun workshop.  I attended the Eastern
Gulf of Mexico meeting in St. Petersburg earlier this year and it was
really worthwhile.  Our input as recreational boaters is needed!!!

Western Gulf of Mexico Recreational Boater Workshop

28-29 May 2009

Clear Lake Hilton

 

The GCOOS-RA will hold the western Gulf of Mexico Recreational Boater
workshop in Clear Lake, TX. This meeting was originally scheduled for
February 2009 in Galveston, prior to Hurricane Ike. This will be a free
workshop similar to the one just held in St. Petersburg, FL for the
eastern Gulf of Mexico region. There is no cost to attend the workshop,
but registration will be required by May 22, 2009. There will also be a
reception with a cash bar on May 28th. Details will be posted as they
become available.

Purpose:  

 To provide a forum for the Recreational Boating Community to learn
about the integrated ocean observing system;

  And ensure that the Recreational Boating Community's needs for Ocean
Observational data and products are incorporated into the Gulf of Mexico
Coastal Ocean Observation System being developed in the Gulf of Mexico.

 

Attendance:  This is a FREE workshop, and OPEN to the public, however,
pre-registration is required for admittance.  You can register at the
Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observation - Regional Association website.
