Lou,
Lake Mohave is preparing to assist all boaters in learning how to
decontaminate the boats during our weekend. My research has indicated that
105 deg high pressure spray or 7 - 10% bleach solution or 100% vinegar.
This is only the beginning of the adventure with the mussels. Our lakes are
very much tied to the Colorado river. It's only a matter of time before
Arizona is infected. Even people's pets swimming in the water can spread
the problem.

I'm planning on bringing a pump, buckets and bleach. The people that will
have the most problem are the boats that stay in the water. If they don't
operate their boats at least once every couple of weeks (recommended is once
a week) to keep the vilagers from growing into full size with shells within
the passages of the motor cooling systems. In short, the days of leaving
your boat floating on the water and just having to worry about growth
turning it green, is over.
