[D28] A New Squadron for D/28

It is my pleasure to announce the formation of the South Bay Provisional
Squadron.  The name "South Bay" was chosen with a prospective geographical
area to include San Diego [south of the city), northern Baja California, and
East to the Arizona border.  

 

The following people were elected as officers:  Miguel Ramirez-Williams,
Commander;  Ed Brunjes, SEO;  Marie Bennett, Treasurer; Katie Law,
Secretary; and Elaine Townsend, Tom Bennett, and Barbara Ramirez-Williams as
Members-at-Large.  

 

This new provisional squadron comes as a result of the work of P/C Earl
Rose, AP, & P/R/C Marilyn Rose, P, of the USPS Squadron Development
Committee, and San Diego members Cdr Ted Bowler and Lt/C Claudia Bowler,
P/R/C Ed Mraz and Pauline Mraz, Lt Ed and Lily Brunjes, P/C Elaine Townsend
and D/Lt/C Katie Law, SN.

 

For those driven by detail, South Bay is not "officially" a provisional
squadron until their application is processed and approved by the National
Operating Committee (OCom).  We hope this will be done by the D/28 Summer
Council.

 

Please welcome these new members to our District when you meet them at
Summer Council, June 2nat Southwestern Yacht Club.
