Ken, Charles -

 

Although aware of the fires burning in your respective districts, I was
unable to imagine the scope and magnitude of the damage and displacement
that these fires are inflicting on the west coast area before watching
news reports this evening.  Although no news may be good news, USPS
members still care and want to convey their well wishes.

 

If you could assist me in passing along our thoughts, prayers, and
sympathies to the members (and others) living in one of impact areas, I
would be appreciative.  Again, we care and are concerned for the safety
and well being of everyone impacted.

 

 One other note, we have a Storm Central
<http://www.usps.org/national/natsec/stormcentral.html>  website on the
USPS home page that can be used as a resource and/or communications tool
by USPS members in need of support, temporary housing, etc.  Currently,
the only postings on Storm Central are related to the status of the
fire.  If there are ways that we as members can assist, Storm Central
may be one way to communicate those needs and requests.
