I've received some more emails from members about the fires.  If you reply

available  now but not indefinitely. If someone needs  that kind of

 6:16 pm (1 hour ago)      Hi:  I have three properties in San Diego.  All
threatened by fire.
One on Rice Canyon.  House has made it through thanks to the help of a
bulldozer that belonged to a next door neighbor.  Fire was on Sunday
night.  Evacuation Sunday night right ahead of fire.  One house and
acreage not really threatened as fire was never closer than 5 miles.
One house in Rancho Santa Fe., which is where i was Monday when i was
evacuated.  On one hour notice.  Fire came within half a mile and 35
houses lost there. my house is fine.  Acreage looks like a bomb went
off.  This must be what war looks like.  Trees down, swimming pool a
disaster.  I was there with 2 small dogs and no other person.  Dogs and
i took off and headed for beach house in Newport Beach.  Took 3 hours
to make a l hour trip.  They closed freeway (5) shortly after we got
home.  I feel very fortunate.  Three messages from Balboa Power
Squadron members.  What a great bunch of guys.  Im planning on going
down to house on Saturday if they will let me through. Joan Willliams

Mel and Rhoda Mones are back safely in their Rancho Bernado home
after two days with us.


 I relieved to hear that so far everyone I've heard from has escaped harm
and damage.  Maybe it will continue this way.  I wish everyone luck and good
fortune.  The people who haven't been so lucky has a lone road ahead of
them.

I'm out of contact for a couple of days to a rendezvous at Cholla Bay in
Rock Point Mexico.
